Frankie Faires, Dallas Fitness and Health
Hi, my name is Frankie. I am a Fitness and Health Specialist
and have been training in Dallas for over 8 years. I divide my time evenly between enhancing my athletes' performance,
transforming physiques and relieving pain. I never thought this would be my career. I'm what you might consider
the "Accidental Trainer."
As a kid,
I was never much of a natural athlete. I was a "book nerd." You would be be more likely to find me with
my head in a book than playing ball. I was the last picked in gym class. I couldn't run fast, climb
the rope or do a single pull-up. I later found my athletic niche in Martial Arts which I love and still practice today (and
now I can do a lot of pull-ups!).
After getting
married (and gaining 50 lbs.), I decided to join a gym. At the gym, I watched and listened to trainers and found out
that I knew more about training than most of them did. I owe that knowledge to Dr. Tom Seabourne.
When I was in college, Dr. Seabourne was my Martial Arts teacher and my professor
with an extensive background in exercise science and sports psychology. I had the pleasure of spending over an hour
a day with him for three years where he entertained every question I had. This was my educational foundation.
I interviewed at the gym and in short order I was training clients.
I was hooked immediately. There is no feeling in the world like helping someone fulfill their goals and dreams.
Eight years later, I'm still a "book nerd" and love finding
better ways to make my clients better. When I am not training clients, I am practicing movement (thanks, Z-Health and
Dr. Cobb), practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (thanks, Carlos Machado), listening to music, reading (fun stuff - not just neuroscience),
writing (your newsletter), watching movies and television and spending every spare moment with my beautiful wife, Heather,
our two dogs, Henry and Rocky and my close friends. It is a great life!
